    Which Lambda sensor?

It's a straight 4 cylinder engine 1.6l 8 valves. Using vcds lite. There are only 2 sensors on this car, one at the end of the exhaust manifold, before the cat, another one just past the cat.

    Trolley Jack Issue

My halfords jack has a release bolt that if turned very slightly will lower the jack slowly and when turned more will increase speed of lowering. All the DIY jacks I've used are pretty much like this. Are you sure yours is faulty rather than being like that from the start?

    Which Lambda sensor?

Hi everyone, This is one for the good mechanics here i.e. @carmanmemoranda @Mottie etc. Audi A3 2006 1.6 8V sportback petrol manual. One of the O2 sensors has gone bad. A scan indicates the following: O2 sensor negative current control circuit bank 1 sensor bank 1 open Is it the pre cat or...

Neighbour brick wall built directly on their driveway?

Too late now, isn't it? You need to keep an eye on that wall and report any cracks, leaning or anything else you might see wrong with it. It might be decades before it starts giving in. When I moved here there was a porch built on soil in the 70s, no fundation at all. It started pulling away...

    My kitchen refit.

The hard work when fitting kitchens is the preparation: plumbing, electrics, walls, flooring, etc. Once that's done, fitting the cabinets takes no time. Chasing walls to get the end panels in is very common. For some reason some walls are on a slope despite the plasterer's best effort. Planning...

    My kitchen refit.

Yes Mottie, it happens to every kitchen fitting, some worse than others. I remember attending several jobs done in 2 days and then taking everything, EVERYTHING out to start again. No kitchen fitter can do a proper job start to finish in 2 days. Even a week on a kitchen extension sometimes is...

    My kitchen refit.

Varnish, I prefer oil based with a bit of dye in it so to see where I've been. First coat is sucked in by the chipboard, second coat seals it. Tell the worktop fitters to put silicone around there before dropping the worktop.

Magnet Pull Out 150mm Cupboard Help

Pull the unit all out until it stops. Lift the front and it should come out easily. Once it's all out you should be able to see the mechanism and work it out. On some kitchens there are tabs to be pushed in to get the whole unit out.

    My kitchen refit.

My one was measured with star wars equipment and it was all wrong. I ended up giving the measurements myself and they were spot on. Amateurs!

Predict the outcome of the 4th July election

My prediction: Very low turnaround and whoever gets into government will continue screwing the working class.

    Expanded ULEZ

Have you ever seen a picture for the purpose of a fine? They're in super high definition. A joke within the police officers is that is safer to walk on a bus lane so if you're attacked there's a clear picture of the assailant. Security cameras instead are total crapp.

    Is mopping varnished floorboards ok?

I have varnished wood floors and the boss uses wood cleaner diluted in water as per instructions. She mops it with the mop wrung out so no water drips out of it. No problems in the past 18 odd years.

    Expanded ULEZ

It's not customised, it has accessories fitted at factory, so all original, but unique. Front radar, never seen on that model and mudguards, available as standard on allroad but extra on se models. Rear debadged, stainless steel double exhaust with drop down tailpipes, mudguards again. All in...

    Expanded ULEZ

No problem with that. My car is unique and criminals using my plates cannot reproduce the exact features of it. So any penalty will be cancelled.
