    Fridge Not cooling, Problem solving.....

I can hear relays clicking when I open the door. The fan runs fine, no catching on ice. I can feel airflow in the freezer section. I can also see the damper rotating or staying in close and/or open position. Freezer is staying perfectly cold. No over-icing/build-up. It's looking like a slow...

    Fridge Not cooling, Problem solving.....

I did not do a long slow defrost. Mainly because of limited time due to a full freezer. I basically did a speed defrost with hairdryer assistance of the exchanger in the freezer section only. But, I'm surprised if there is an ice block in the ducting as that section does not seem cold enough...

    Fridge Not cooling, Problem solving.....

Ok, my trust Samsung fridge/freezer is having a fridge temp issue, It is a Samsung RL39WB. Here is the service manual. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1088853/Samsung-Rl39wb.html?#manual Now, the fridge has run perfectly for years. But, last week I left the freezer door open for a few...

Battery Testing a mobility scooter -interpreting readings.

Just thought I'd add a little to this: I was doing a little experiment to see how much range the existing batteries (that need replacing) go. As as per above, measured on the multimeter after a full charge, they show 27-28v when tested with no load, but as soon as the scooter is turned on...

Battery Testing a mobility scooter -interpreting readings.

That was the original question. I revived the thread somewhat to muse on what makes for a good replacement. A lot of the scooter batteries that are available seem to often be random brand names, especially the Lithium ones. It really seems hard to tell good from the bad. Or what makes a good...

Battery Testing a mobility scooter -interpreting readings.

No idea....maybe I just got an ill-informed customer service rep. I rang specifically to find out how the VAT removal was applied, and assumed I would have to make a purchase over the phone. But, that was the response I was given. I'll clearly have to ring again and ask for a manager or...

Battery Testing a mobility scooter -interpreting readings.

That is something I vaguely mused on, but didn't think too much about. But it is a very good point. Based on elimination by size (maximum capacity for the box) I get these option. Obviously I would need 2 for the singles. The Avon is an interesting one with it being GEL based, 42ah and a 2...

Battery Testing a mobility scooter -interpreting readings.

I did just ring Tanya actually. They said that they no longer apply the discount at purchase. It has to be reclaimed by me via HMRC and that they can be strict about whether it is reclaimable. To the point where it might have to say "mobility scooter battery" in the brand battery listing.

Battery Testing a mobility scooter -interpreting readings.

Reviving this thread a bit. Finally found a scooter I liked, and factored in the price of the batteries. The existing ones do seem to be dead. They show 27-28v when tested with no load, but as soon as the scooter is turned on, this drops to 16v. While moving, on high or low speed it drops to...

Ford KA mk1 - fettling and diagnosis - First diy car service

Update: Well, I thought the connection might need a clean, so bought some contact spray. But, just before I used it, I checked the OBD IAT and ETC readings again, and they both seemed more more in-line with what I would expect on a cold engine. So I disconnected the sensor connection....and...

Ford KA mk1 - fettling and diagnosis - First diy car service

Update: So, managed to test with a multimeter today, it seems the reference voltage being supplied with the sensor disconnected is around 4.1 v. This seems to suggest, and please correct me if I am wrong. That there is some kind of resistance on the circuit to the connector block. This is...

Ford KA mk1 - fettling and diagnosis - First diy car service

This is another enormously helpful video. Based on all the things he goes through, it seems like I have some kind of short, based on the fact I am getting a positive temp reading when the sensor is disconnected. This seems to suggest I am getting a voltage of at least around 2.7V. I need to...

Ford KA mk1 - fettling and diagnosis - First diy car service

After replacing the sensor, it seemed to start better when I turned it over straight after fitting, on a single turn. The issue is, once it turns over, it seems to behave for a good long while after for more test starts ( I assume because there is some temp there). But, after being left...

Ford KA mk1 - fettling and diagnosis - First diy car service

Update: Turns out I am not going mad. I decided to exclude the fact the part was...somehow wrong. I rang a few other parts suppliers and they confirmed the part number I had on my box matched the ford code for the part. But, to triple check I rang another local company and got them to order...

Ford KA mk1 - fettling and diagnosis - First diy car service

Well, I tried warming it and using some washing up liquid, but it was a no go. Although I had to abandon trying as it was dark and started spitting. But, it didn't feel like it wanted to fit any more than it did before....
